Place the ohmmeter to selector switch to the DC voltage position. With the ignition turned off, touch the negative test lead to the vehicle ground. Using the positive lead, measure the voltage at each of the six pins. They should all read zero volts. If pin 2 reads 12 volts the ignition is permanently supplying voltage to the Prosecutor system. This can drain the vehicle's battery and is not recommended. |
| Turn the ignition on and verify that the voltage at Pin 2 is 12 volts. Activate the lights and verify that the voltage on Pin 3 is 12 volts. If pins 5 and 6 are connected to an input such as brakes or turn signal, activate the input and verify that the appropriate pin reads 12 volts. |
|
| If the siren is wired up for AC voltage as most are, turn the ohmmeter selector switch to the AC voltage position. Place the positive lead on Pin 4 and the negative lead to Pin 1. Verify that the voltage is between 25 and 30 volts AC. | |
